KUTSCHERFELD PALACE
The palace is located directly in the centre of the city’s historical district. It is a protected historic site dating from 1762 and is one of the city’s historically protected buildings. The building consists of four wings with a courtyard in the centre, 3 above-ground floors and a partial basement. The attic has two high-level apartments and non-residential units. Reconstruction was completed in 1994 with an maximum effort made to reproduce the building’s appearance at the time when it was constructed (second half of the 18th century), which meant restoring and producing replicas of all carpentry, locksmithing, masonry, artistic blacksmithing, stuccowork and stonework as well as partially replacing the ceiling construction and trusses and putting in a new roof. The palace has been designed as a mono-block divided into the following sections:
- French Embassy
- Institut Français
